Black snakes

I bought 6 chickens last year, and only had three left from predators, this year I bought 8 more, already this year have caught 6 black snakes.....any tips on keeping the snakes out.
Yard is kept up and there isnt a lot of bush...

Set up traps and dispatch them all. Or you can catch them and keep them as pets.
