Black spots have suddenly appeared on combs

Two of my girls suddenly have black spots on their combs - 10 months old, Orpington and Wyandotte. Can’t be frostbite with the current temps. Everyone seems healthy and behaving normally, though the Wyandotte has stopped laying prior to having the black spots (we’re trying to work this out separately). I haven’t seen any fighting but our Roo is a Brahma and huge, and can be a little enthusiastic with his ladies (two needed saddles). The marks look a bit ‘wet’ so could possibly be blood? They appear to be peck marks - either from flock mates or from the rooster during mating.

I agree with @sourland. Plenty of mine have scars like that on their combs, its harmless.

Thank you! I have a feeling it must be from the rooster in that case - he really watches out for them, but he can be kind of rough . Can I just leave them to heal up by themselves?
