Black spots on bottom of chick's feet?

Hi

I just noticed this morning that my five day old chicks all have black spots on the bottom of their feet. This has never happened before, so I don't know what to do. Yesterday I ran out of paper towels for the bedding of their brooder, so I substituted with newspaper. Could they be having an allergic reaction? Do chickens have allergic reactions? Is it just ink? I'm not sure.

My best guess is that's newspaper ink. Newspaper is not a good idea for chicks - too slick! Run to the store!
