Black Spots on Comb - Avian Pox?

It DOES appear to be dry pox. Initially, the spots weren't raised, but they definitely are now and they match the pics I've seen online. Plus, my husband says they now appear viral in nature. We're not doing anything but cleaning the scabs. We're using chlorhexidine and a sodium chlorite solution (a product called Oxy-drops). Is iodine preferable?

Iodine will help dry them out. Not sure about the chlorhexadine. Pretty sure it also has antiviral properties (like the iodine), so I'd ask your husband's advice since he is a vet.
