My chickens are 7 years old. We’ve never had any problems with mites in the past but now they have these black spots on them. I’ve looked closely and it doesn’t look like any of the black spots are moving. What could this be? They seem healthy otherwise. They are eating and drinking well. And still laying eggs after 7 years!

This is a sign of frostbite. It freezes blood flow in the chicken. Simply move the hen to a warmer area. If it had been warm, and this is clearly not the reasoning for this, I hope you can find other helpful info! Praying for you chick!
That is not frostbite.

With frostbite, the most exposed edges of the comb turn black (like the tips.) It does not make a bunch of little black scattered dots like that.
