What are the black spots on my roosters comb and wattle?

it can either usually be where he slightly cut it and its just little scabs or he could be getting slight frostbite if it's cold outside.

x2. Most likely too late in the year for fowl pox now. Probably just scabs.

Thank you! We live in central Florida so I know it isn't frostbite.

We've just recovered from a minor fowl pox outbreak... so it is not to late in the season... especially if your in Fla. We're in NC. Our Dominiques (Nikkis), usually have the black spots... in their comb. It is usually dried blood from the all the pecking each other. If the spots are small and minor, I wouldn't worry to much about it.
