Black Sumatra? Pullet or cockerel?

I'm not familiar with sumatras either, but I think it's a pullet.

Why? The comb isn't very big, neither are wattles?

Yeah! Look how long that tail is! Is the breed supposed to have a long tail?

I have no problem with it being a rooster or hen. I raise Japanese bantams and Seramas and have 20 leghorn and australorp laying hens, a silkie rooster, and few cochin bantams. I just have very little knowledge of sumatras.

I’m not very experienced with Sumatra’s but I think that’s a cockerel. I have yet to see a hen with such flowy saddle feathers. Yes both male and female Sumatra’s do have long tail feathers but I haven’t seen a Sumatra hen with saddle feathers that long.

All of them except my japs and Seramas free range together so they're really pretty low maintenance. Once you gets used to waking up at 4:30 every morning to the sound 7 or 8 roosters crowing outside your window it's not to bad.
