Has anyone ever seen a Black Australian Swan egg next to a goose egg? Is it colored differently? Is it larger? We have a small "nest" of eggs that could be from our first-timer Australian Swans OR our Cotton Patch Geese. We didn't realize they could look so similar. Plus, the swans haven't built a nest, so we weren't expecting eggs yet. Are we going to have to wait until they hatch to find out, LOL?

My mute swan eggs where definitely bigger than the goose eggs. Fatter too. And they had a bluish hue to them. Here's a pic of a mute swan egg. (They were dirty so it's hard to see the bluish color underneath.)

I guess the only way to be sure is watch their behaviors closely for clues or wait till they hatch

In case anyone was curious to know, they are the EXACT same shape, size, and color of our Cotton Patch Goose eggs. They built a giant nest (again) in front of the door to the rabbit/chicken barn and are guarding their one egg religiously. I have to assume it's theirs because the geese don't like them and I doubt they could convince the geese to lay inside "their" nest.
