Black tar-looking spots on comb

Noticed these black spots on Dominique's Comb this morning. No other symptoms, still laying and definitely not frost bite here in California. Any ideas?

Yes, dried blood...it appears, some dripped down and dried. Check for pecking going on, as Rose Quartz suggested.

Definitely not poop... more like some sort of growth.

A quick way to determine if it is a growth, like fungus, is to use a wet warm cloth and wipe the comb. If it is a fungus, it won't budge. If it is dried blood, it should start to come off, and you may even see some blood seep out.

Treat with an anti fungal if you determine that is the case.

Definitely dried blood/scab. Pecking order is always in transition/being reshuffled and challenged.
