Black waddle and comb. Please help!!

In the learning center article there is a small bit on dry fowl pox.
Transmission by mosquito apparently. I googled images of dry fowl pox and found more.

The good news is they can recover and NOT remain carriers.
 
I think there is 2 different kinds of fowl pox right?
Ive not spent much time researching either yet.
 
Mmmm... I hate to say it but those are just scabs? Do you have more roosters? He could have even gotten into a fight with a hen. I have seen dry pox and am almost positive that this is not it. But pics are hard to tell by.
 
Also he is bright eyed and healthy. If he had a disease he would not be as up and at it if you know what I mean?

Here at pics of Roos of mine that got in fights. The last two are a lot more graphic but it looks like what happened to yours but yours isn't as bad.
 
He's my only rooster. Would a hen "whoop" him like that? And yes he's definitely lively. He's crowing and mating and running around but that waddle looks horrendous and has me concerned.
