Black Widow, Friend or foe?

it may sound stupid..but the ones that REALLY creep me out are the wolf spiders..or jumping spiders(thats what we calll them)...AHHH!!.

...they jump on YOU!!..lol..try to eat or kill you

or SOMETHING!..why DO THEY JUMP ON YOU??..

but.. yes i know that the widow bite can be dangerous to humans...i knew a guy who got bit by one...he was ill for quite a long time...also..i took care fo a patient that got bit by a recluse spider...man..that was BAD!!..the wound went down to the bone...

A male (midwest) on the underside of a garden `cart' seat (pullets got that one a long time ago)

This one is just outside, next to the driveway. I was trying to light the web (very distinctively woven web/very strong) and a Crane Fly happened by. Just a little female (double hash marks dorsal/ventral).

As they leave their webs in place, it is easy to keep an eye on them (very useful eating insects, but aggressive). When their broods start hatching out I just spray `em (don't need an infestation). They come back every year. I've yet to catch a pair mating (would like to snap that and post it).

There's nothing weird about it..I'm part native, too, and I have no trouble killing spiders. Our ancesters believed that everything had a spirit, and we respect all life, but that doesn't keep me from killing a fly, or a mosquito, or a spider, or a poisonous snake. I use my common sense when it comes to things that can hurt me or mine...

Well she does have Black feet ya know!! LOL.... I think that's an awesome name for her!!! And meaningful too!!! Everyone has a spider named Charlotte...
