Blackie the hen decides nest boxes aren't good enough for her!

Blackie my hen(I think a Black Star)has chosen to nest in the garage using an old blanket and grill instructions as nesting material(even though there's several bales of fluffy straw in the garage too)! It's so funny watching her carefully pull together her "nest" so her little eggie will be safe. She is probably my favorite hen out of the bunch.

my buff orphington millie would lay her eggs in a wheel barrel, but after a few forced visits to the nesting box she got the picture.

haha that's funny! I have a hen who won't lay in the nesting boxes either, she lays in the shed! I couldn't figure out why we got 5 eggs out of 16 hens one day.....the day after that i found a nest of a couple of eggs in my container of shavings

Blackie is beautiful and obviously an above average chicken who needs a very special nesting site for her exceptional eggs!! She is very pretty.
