/)/ that's for sure

Just curious, I saw you have a Mom hen and 9 month olds, what happened to the father? Predator? I can't free range mine very much, too many neighbors and too many predators. Last one that didn't come in for the night was a pile of feathers the next day.

Oh a sad story the father die last year when the mom had her babies the father got so distracted and exited I guess ..;( he never use to go back to the woods and when we got the female and she had babies the father use to follow them everywhere well one evening we went to the store and when we came back around 8 it was still daylight and he usually was roosting by 830 ..well he never came back that night so I went to looks for him back in the woods and all I found was his eye feathers everywhere :(:(:(

So yes a predator got him :(:( I always wanted to find out what and who did it but I have no idea what got him ... And it wasn't to far back in the woods it was just by the edge of the woods

Sorry to hear it, I'm pretty sure it was a fox that got mine. There was a big feather pile in the pasture and then a trail of them heading off into the woods. This was about 100 yards from my barn where the pens are, but in 20 years nothing has tried to get into the barn pens, knock on wood.
