My husband says if i blanch the corn on the cobb and freeze the corn on the cob and not cut the corn off that it will taste like cobb. I cut off the majority of the corn and then the last batch i just blanched and froze the whole corn on the cobb. Is he right or full of bologna!! ?

I have put up corn on the cob after blanching. I prefer not to blanch it though.. I just use my foodsaver and stick it in the bag after I finish silking and washing..
Then when I want corn, I just take it out the freezer and put the bag in boiling water.. Taste fresh.. I also use a steamer as well..

Yep, the above poster is correct. NO Blanching here, just husk and put in bags and freeze IMMEDIATELY, usually within an hour or two of picking but have bought at farmer's market and froze right away. Then come winter I steam them and they taste like you just picked them. To me blanching makes the corn taste "water logged" when thawed out and cooked. My personal opinion only here.
