Blast from the Past: Ardo's Secret Talk, aka Amy, Show Winning AKC Doberman

What a great pic! I've never owned a Dobie, but have always thought they were just about the most beautiful, athletic dogs one can find. Our neighbor has a male and I just love to watch him run--so smooth and graceful! of course, he's also a big reason we got our Eve spayed---really didn't want Great Dane/Doberman fence puppies

although I'm sure they'd have been adorable!

I bet Dane-Dobie pups would be adorable! They are very definitely graceful dogs. Amy was extra large for her sex but I can't recall exactly how tall she was. Her sire was also extra big out of the Warlock line. I remember his name was Lancelot but other than that, nothing much.

I was going through my dad's basement again and found my dog's pedigree! I need to scan it and post it to see if you show folks remember any of the lines. I know her sire was named something Lancer and they called him Lance. He was a giant of a dog and Amy was extra large for a female.

I scanned her pedigree, hope you can read it. Seems her sire's side had the more well-known names. Her mother, Gretchen, was a good dog, bought when she was four years old, she had that skin condition that many blues do. And if you spoke to her, she'd crawl to you on her belly, to me a sign she'd been hit more than once. She was very protective of my sister and me. Dad eventually sold her. Her new owner bred her and when her pups were late, he hesitated taking her to the vet, losing her and all her pups. Made me so sad.

That's pretty cool you still have that, I see the little Wayne's dog food icon, I have a fascination with dog food and the ingredients, but I can't find anywhere there's a list of what they used to put in dog food, I swear as a kid there was a lot of horse in them. I don't recognize anyone in the pedigree as I'm more a boxer fan. Nice.

I can't believe I found it, also found one for another Dobe female we had. Most Doberman aficionados would probably recognize the Warlock names in there.

I don't recall Wayne's dog food, but I do wonder what they used to put in them!
