bleeding comb and somewhat lethargic

9 month old BR is not moving around much and her comb is bleeding. i inspected her, and other than the bleeding comb, she seems fine. i noticed blood on the other birds too.

she wont walk around much and so i'm worried she is going to die on me.

update: i did give her some yogurt and apples and water. she's eating fine but he poo is runny. it's hard to tell what color it is on the dirt,straw and leaves but it's not big and solid like usual.

help?

Where are you noticing blood on the others? Are they cold? Have they been pecking on each other? How many are housed together in how much space? You'll have to provide more info for help...

Sounds like he has frostbite, which is very painful and should be kept from happening with a heat lamp placed over the roosting area, placed high enough to avoid any contact by the flock, but low enough to keep them warm and the moisture from their breath from collecting on them and causing the frostbite.

I'm sure others will also chime in and help.

Would help to see a picture.
Seperate her to a dog crate or cage. Put her in a dark warm place to rest to eliminate stress.
Put baking soda on comb to stop bleeding.

After bleeding has stopped for awhile put neosporin ( or other antibiotic cream) DO NOT USE THE KIND THAT SAYS RELIEVES PAIN as the stuff in that is toxic to chickens.

That is what I would do. Good luck and keep us informed.

just little spots here and there-i think from pecking the sick hen

i suspect they are a little cold, it's been snowing. but they come out of the coop every day and spend time in the run like any other day.

Have they been pecking on each other?

i think they've been pecking the lethargic hen (the blood spots)

How many are housed together in how much space?

5 hens in a very large dog house. the run is 10x4'. there's 2 roosting bars for them but they all sleep next to each other. it's not heated.​
