I was outside trying to catch my barred Plymouth Rock pullet that had escaped when she ran into some deer netting. I noticed that her comb was bleeding in between her comb points. It looks okay, but the other chickens might try to peck her. Her friend, who she has been with as a chick, is freaking out being away from her, I put them together and the other chicken didn't peck at her comb, but I'm not sure that will last. They are seperate now, though. Is there any thing I can use to cover the wound? She is in a rabbit hutch - WAY to small for her. I mean, it is bigger than a show cage, but it is pretty small. She is almost full grown and can't reach her neck up in the hutch. Can I use human healing ointment and a Band-Aid? It is not very serious, although it looks like a little bit of her comb is hurt. I am really upset that I was stupid enough to let her run into the fence... It has not been a good day.
