Bleeding Earlobe

My buff orpington Honey was bleeding on the earlobe when I came outside to collect eggs about 30 minutes ago. I brought her in and cleaned her wound with hot water and soap. I cleaned it off again with warm water and put neosporin on the wound. Should I not have placed her back with her friends or should she not be with them? Thank you for any suggestions!

As long as the others aren't pecking at it, getting her back to the flock as quickly possible was the best thing to do. You/she don't need a pecking order shuffle.

I would make sure there is no trace of bleeding before you bring her back to the others.
They will beck her at any sight of blood......others can kill her. One or a few nights without her friends will be just fine. Go check on her......my opinion. Best of luck. Keep us posted.

I use Vaseline to stop bleeding or I've put baking soda on it to stop the bleeding and act as a coagulate. It's always worked for me and they other have never messed with a wound that I've done those things to.

One of my oullets had a significant tear on her earlobe last summer... strip of tissue dangling down. Thankfully, her flock mates ignored it, so I put neosporin on the tear and let her stay with the flock. A couple days later the dangling strip died and fell off. Her earlobe healed completely without incident. If nobody is pecking at it, I’d leave her with the flock. Good luck!
