Bleeding from Butt then dead...

Yesterday I found blood in my pen where I have my 4 month old chickens housed. Today I find one of my little chickens dead and blood coming from its butt. I am wondering what this could be? The chickens are house in a wire cage about 3 feet off the ground. I feed them grower feed and fresh water daily. Some of the other chickens in this pen are losing their feathers like they are molting. I have checked for mites and have dusted them. I did not see any mites or flees.

I've had the same thing happen this morning. My 7-month-old ameraucana was fine yesterday -- she flew up to my shoulder as usual, ate and drank, perched. This morning, I went out to give them their morning feed and greeting, and Iggy was dead. There was blood where she had perched overnight, and blood all over the vent area. She was still warm when I found her :-(

Will Tylan 50 work for this too?

I had to put six more of them down this morning. They were all bunched up in one corner of the cage. They looked really bad, they would not stand up tall. They were all six hunched down with the heads hanging . They looked squatty. One was already dead on the floor of the cage.

I had this happen in June. Young chickens, no symptoms, found in the morning with blood leaking out. 2 one night and 1 the next. I treated them all with Corid-a bit more than recommended . And Tylan. If they're not drinking, get a teaspoon and dribble it on their beak or on the side. If they get a bit in, it makes a difference. I don't know why it was so rampant, but I stopped it. My guess is that unsymptomatic coccidiosis developed into Necrotic Enteritis, and ate thru the intesting. I may be wrong, but the Corid and Tylan stopped it. 7 days

Or, there happens to be a type of coccidiosis that only shows symptoms a few hours before death. Usually at night. There is hemmorhaging.
