Help! My silkie roosters leg is bleeding a lot. It looks like he cut himself on a loose piece of chicken wire. His flockmates kept pecking at him so I separated him. He pants and clucks a lot but that is probably because he is by himself. How do I stop the bleeding? Thanks!

( He has a bad case of scaly leg mites)

I believe there's a broken blood feather. I see this alot with mine.

Usually I do not have to intervene. But you can pluck the feather, & wash off the blood, & apply some Triple Antibiotic ointment to it.

One thing is you may need to hold some pressure to stop any bleeding that maybe still there after the plucking process.
