Okay, first off, these chicks will be 5 weeks old as of Wednesday. They went outside to the coop on Wednesday and are doing great.
Here is the issue. One of the Golden Comets got hurt. I saw blood right above some of her tail feathers. When I looked, she was not happy at all, but I saw an area of about the size of a garbozo bean that looked like stems of feathers that had fresh blood all over that area. Now, when I am talking about the blood, it is not a ton, but it is obvious and bright red, so it is fresh.

What is happening now is that others are pecking at her. Do I put her back in the brooder by herself or put medicine on the area? If you look at the pic with the arrow it is right above the tail feathers covered by her flight feathers

I do not know what to do. Please help, she is our littlest one.

I’d separate her so the others don’t peck at the wound

If the blood is clotting, I would spray the bloody area with BluKote spray to hide the red. Are they all the same age? How much room do they have? Are they too hot?

They are all 4-5 weeks old. I separated the one doing the pecking. Not too hot it's 60+ during the night 70 daytime they have access to a 6'x17' foot and an 8'x4' coop with 2 plate heaters that they really don't use much. But put one with the one attacking the others to be able to stay warm. Cleaned the two of them and applied spray antibacterial. Just checked them and they seem to not be getting pecked by the others as it is looking a lot better. I will get some BluKote spray tomorrow. Thank you

Well it turned out is was caused by the sand bathing. We got the wrong type of sand. Everything I read about sand just said not to ger regular sand. So the yard I went to said cm was what they sell for coops. Not knowing better and 1.5 yards latter we have chicks breaking their feathers in the rocky sand. I feel horrible. So I have started sifting the sand with 1/4" mesh and am half done. By the way the love the sifted sand a lot more.

Well, I sifted the sand, and it turned out it was the chick after all. She went after a second one while my wife was in the run and watching them interact. So we have here in coop jail and located a new home that has a huge area, roosters, and is a free-range farm. So she is taking her next week. I will miss the little one, but this is a good outcome. Now I hope I have zero Roos, I really can't stand the thought of having to get rid of others.
