Bleeding tail feathers

That’s Nibbler. When I got him his legs were basically sideways. Poor lil guy couldn’t take more than 2-3 steps without having to lay down for a while

started giving him vitamin b complex from tractor supply a month or so ago and it’s helped a ton. His legs are straightening out and getting stronger. I have an acre yard and he can walk about half way across it now before having to sit.

but with that he prefers to sit rather than stand. His legs still aren’t the strongest

Do you still have him on the B complex?
Yes I give him a dose every day. It’s really worked wonders for him. He is building up his leg strength. He grew so fast befor his legs were strong enough for him that his poor lil legs are catching up. They still aren’t right under him like on Peep but they are mostly straight and he can get around now and gets a little better each day

That is awesome!! Very happy to hear this good news! As for pulling out tail feathers I have EE and Salmon Faverolles that have beards and they pull the feathers out of each other’s beards. I started years ago adding extra protein to the daily snack which is dried meal worms and dry dog food ( salmon and pea) they have not pulled each other’s feathers recently. One of the reason for feather pulling is lack of protein. Then there is @CoriM has a duck who evidently just likes to pull out feathers. Or that’s the way it seems anyway.

Hi Miss Lydia, I give my ducks a snack of meal worms every day. How much should I be giving? I usually just throw a couple of big handfuls out in the grass for the 6 ducks to eat.

Good stuff. I will try to get them some extra protein and see if that helps

I do a couple cups along with the dry dog food I have 34 birds.
