Blessing by a priest, should I take the easy way out?

It is a lovely gift. If you can't have it blessed yourself, you could always take it to the Church and dip it in the Holy Water yourself, and then send it, explaining that you did that, because no Priest was available, but he still needs to have it formally blessed.

If someone were to ask me to do a favor like that I would consider it to be a privilege. Perhaps don't look at is as taking the easy road, but allowing another person to be a blessing to you. We don't often allow others to do favors for us. We like to be independent. Doing for others is a gift, but allowing others to do for you is also a gift.

I'm not sure I understand that statement. And it's not a crucifix, it's a rosary - that has a crucifix attached.
