Blind in one eye. Deformed beak.

T
Obtain and apply some ophthalmic ointment to the bad eye. This may be something that will have to continue for the rest of her life as will the need to trim her beak. One eyed birds are at a disadvantage in a large flock and tend to be picked on. It may be necessary to keep her with one or two mellow flock mates. Good luck with her.

Thank u!! So much

Luckily i dont hve a large flock. 6 chooks and they have been fairly good. Im just living in hopes that she will be left alone once i integrate them. :) but i will do my best for her anyways.

I would just use some plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment ointment on the eye for awhile in case there is active infection. You can get Terramycin eye ointment at feed stores that is just for eyes, but since this is probably an old injury and the eye looks to have been pecked, the Triple Antibiotic is probably good enough. Try to keep her beak trimmed slightly, and feed her wet chicken feed out of a tall sided bowl to help her get enough to eat. Change it daily, and the other’s may like it as well.
