Does anybody know what could cause my Royal Palm Tom turkey to go blind overnight? He was fine yesterday & today I went out to let them out for awhile & he's totally blind. He has had no symptoms of any illness at all. There is no discharge from his eyes & no other signs of anything other than he is totally blind. He's very disoriented today because he can't find his way around & keeps bumping into things. I felt so sorry for him that I put him back into the pen so he wouldn't get lost. I tried to do a search online & came up with nothing helpful. Can anybody help me?

First time I've heard of this symptom.
I would suggest quarantine him, just in case it's something communicable.
Are you sure he is unable to see? Or just disorientated because of another reason?

Sorry I haven't responded, I lost my tom, he just seemed to give up after he went blind. I don't know if he could have gotten into anything, it would have just been something out in the yard because he was never too far off. I had read about the stroke as a cause, but whatever the reason I'm now without a tom & have to hens that are lonely.
