Bloated crop and abnormal behavior

Hey everyone,

I have a 2 year old chicken, Kari, who I'm very worried about. This morning when I went to let the chickens out, I noticed her just sitting on the water bowl while the other two rushed out as I opened the door. (It's normal for all of them to rush out). She kind of stumbled down from the bowl and slowly walked out. I picked her up and she started vomiting clear ish fluid. When I put her down and watched her walk, she seemed very weak and unsteady on her feet. She wasn't interested in foraging with the other two and kind of just stood there. I felt her crop and it felt like it was filled with liquid, very full.

I had to leave for work but I asked my mom to monitor her while I was gone and my mom said she seemed fine and wasn't laying down but I kind of don't think she knows what to look for the way I do because I watch them all the time and know their behavior. When I got home, I picked up Kari and she vomited again. Initially, it was the same clear fluid then it turned thicker and more brownish. When I went to lock them in the coop for the night, I noticed she was drinking lots of water non stop.

I realized that on Saturday, I remember watching the chickens and noticed that while the others were dust bathing and grooming, Kari just stood there and didn't join in, I thought that was weird but brushed it off but now I'm thinking she wasn't feeling well since Saturday,

If anyone has any idea or any advice to give, it would be much appreciated. Thank you for reading.

I brought her inside and fed her some eggs with yogurt. I'm withholding water until tomorrow morning. I massaged her crop and it sort of felt like there was sand in there... I couldn't really feel anything that would block the exit. Should I not be feeding her pellets and just the eggs and yogurt? There is so many differing pieces of advice on sour crop and I'm not sure which route to take..

i have the same issue with 3 of my chickens. It is probably impacted crop as I found out after much research. One of my ladies was hardly moving so I ended up doing a cut into her crop. The amount of straws that I found in her crop was unbelievable. No wander she lost so much weight. I have stitched her up with textile fishing line; have been feeding her boiled egg with bio-cultures natural yogurt. 24 hours later she is arguing that she wants back in the coop. I still wonder how and when I will remove the stitches but for now I am happy that she is still alive. The other 2 are not as bad so I am keeping them on a specific diet, as at the moment only head movement is noticed and also a half way crop in the morning. Good luck with yours,
