Bloated silkie! Help!

I fed her this morning straight from the syringe again went much better. She gobbled it right out the nozzle! Ate about 25 cc again. I massaged her crop, which is much smaller today and I heard a lot of gurgling going on down there. Sounds like things are moving anyway. She pooped a few times overnight.. the whitish stiff with a bit of black. She has been standing up and peering over the edge of her bin, with eyes closed though. She talked to me a couple of times, but doesn't seem in distress. All in all, she looks pretty good. I have to go to work for a few hours then I will feed her again. She seems pretty content laying in her bin on the heating pad!:)

Quick question...What are the chances of putting the tube down the esophagus an pouring the liquid into her lungs?
Also the "ivermectin"...is tha a Wormer? I keep reading about it being used for the de-bugging process.
With a large enough tube it's almost impossible to put the tube in the trachea. Ivermectin is a wormer and could be used for mites, but it won't do a thing for lice and it's lost it's effectiveness as a wormer, so I would dust her with poultry dust or 5% Sevin powder. For worming I would use Safeguard (liquid or paste) or Valbazen, *not* Wazine (only gets roundworms).

Safeguard dose - .5ml per 2.2 pounds (50mg/kg) by mouth, repeat in 10 days.
Valbazen dose - .2ml per 2.2 pounds (~20mg/kg) by mouth, repeat in 10 days.

Thank you. I will get some dust tonight.
I watched some o the videos you listed, (thank you) an went ahead and tube fed her this am. It went well So easy in fact, I won't be hand feeding again! And she seems more content an full as well! It's fun learning new things, too. Hopefully she will get past all of this soon an I can get he out of th hours and back in th coop!
Gab You ever had a Hen close her eyes and not open them while they are going through this? It worries me that after all of this the poor girl will be blind! ):

She did not like that. Her eyes do not look good. Will try to take a picture.
No dust at Fleet Farm. Dusting her with a menthol powder. Also put Frontline on her neck. How much should I be feeding her a day?

I went through and read other threads about eye infections. Then I went back and cleaned her eyes more thoroughly with a warm paper towel. She IS opening both eyes now and started cleaning herself. I still haven't seen her eat or drink on her own. I will keep an eye on that and tube feed her again as necessary. She doesn't seem as gassy now that she has food in her and she's pooping black as well. Maybe she's on the upswing???
