We might have an issue that I noticed this morning.. I have a 8 young chicken, 4 mos old. In that group I have 3 roosters for sure and they get a little aggressive to my Isa Browns that are the sweet ones. Anyway today I noticed a pretty large blood blister on Poppy(hens name). I really dont want to get into antibiotics if its just gonna go away on its own. she appears to be acting normal. Any advice on time limit before i get a vet involved? Appreciate your responses! rob

:welcome 3 cockerels with that number of hens is not a good ratio. They will harass and even possibly injure your pullets. Have you considered eliminating at least two of them ? Unless you plan on hatching eggs you don't need a rooster. The ear lobe injury at this point is not significant. Just keep an eye on it.

Thanks, thanks for that. Im glad its not serious. Yes been talking for a few weeks now. But Im going to get the mean one out ASAP before he really hurts one of them.

Update: Ill be cooking up those roosters tonight, dressed them this weekend. Left the Alpha roster and nicest one to protect the flock. The earlobe looks better and everyone seems to be happy. thanks for the reply sourland
