So i opened up a strange Turkey egg. I had candled it to check for cracks and what not and saw a very dark blob in it along with the yolk. I ended up opening it and found there was a blood clot in it.
Would this have affected the pult if it started growing one? Would it have affected the fertility of the egg?
While I don't know the actual answer... I feel like a blood spot would effect development at some point... causing a quitter maybe, if it did develop an embryo. Or some type of birth defect if not causing it to somehow not be fertile as you suggest.
But I think that's a great question and have wondered it myself before.
How crazy that sometimes double yolkers hatch twins! Life seems to still find a way sometimes.
