This morning when I went to clean off the droppings board I noticed several drops of what looked like blood in several places. It wasn't in the poop, it was just on the board. I looked over the chickens and couldn't find any external signs of a problem. Any thoughts?

How old are they? It could of just been a minor wattle/comb injury from a roosting dispute, but even though it seemed to not be in the droppings I'd want to rule out cocci since it can kill so quickly.

It was separate from the droppings. I'll take a picture in the morning when it's light and post it. Should have done that to begin with. There is a black spot on the top of the wattles of one of my hen's head so I'll post that too. Thanks for responding.

The black spot sounds like dried blood so that is most likely where the spots came from. If you have more problems you might want to add somemore roosting areas to cut down on the fighting.
