Hi! Can anyone tell me what this is in the egg? Thanks in advance!

Sometimes when an egg is forming, a blood vessel in the yolk follicle or oviduct wall ruptures, and blood is incorporated into the egg. The resulting blood is called a blood spot; the pictured egg's blood spot is larger than normal, but there probably is nothing to worry about with the hen.
