Not sure which hen in my coop did it but a couple of days ago I found bloody stool in the coop. I haven't seen any since...any tips, suggestions? I have 5 pullets and 4 laying hens. The hens just came back from exhibiting at the fair for 3 weeks.

If they are acting healthy, don't need to worry too much. Keep an eye out. The trip to the fair was probably a stressor that let the bits of the cocci protozoa in their guts take over and result in some bloody stools. However, most are pretty good at keeping a balance with parasites as adults so if are not lethargic, you don't have to treat.

Thank you for the reply. I haven't seen any more bloody stool since that day last week. But, the hens are not laying much...don't know if the cold snap in our area is affecting them or the new environment...but everyone seems healthy and happy...so will just keep an eye on them! Thanks for all the info on the site, it is very helpful!
