Hmmm. I wonder why my vet wanted to test my dogs poop then? Thanks for the info. Great help.
Was it a standard domestic pet vet or livestock/avian specific? I suppose the vet's just trying to cover all bases to match appropriate treatment but beware the "add on test upcharge" and don't be afraid to ask why they're testing if they've identified a strain. If they haven't identified it then how did they diagnose the chickens? Be your own advocate for YOU as well as your animals!
