Blood in the chicken coop

Hi all!
Colorado here!

Yesterday there was a few dabs of blood on one of the roost bars. Then today I go out and there’s a lot more blood on the bars and now bloody poop.

I can’t see any chickens with any problems or noticeable issues and I can’t see anything bloody or bleeding. There was one chicken with some blood on her feathers but after checking her over it looks like it’s just blood on the feathers since I couldn’t find anything wrong with her. I literally see no one acting weird or unnatural.

Context: the coop is home to 19 chickens and one guinea all around 8 months old.

Has anyone had this happen or seen this? Newish chicken owner here, less than a year, and never had this happen before. Any help is appreciated!

Are your chickens acting lethargic and hunched over? Blood in their poop is a sign of coccidiosis.

Thanks for the reply! They are not which is why I’ve been a bit confused! Is it possible they have it and are just not acting like that?

I was going to get some corid today just in case!

It’s possible…
If they have no injuries, coccidiosis would be my first guess. I'd still give them Corid.

Even if it's not coccidiosis, the Corid won't hurt anything. It's better safe than sorry, since coccidiosis can progress quickly to death in some cases. If not sure, I would go ahead and treat. Sometimes small wounds to combs or wattles can bleed a lot, and the only evidence may be a small black spot that looks like nothing where the injury happens. But again, coccidiosis is serious if not treated, it's better to be safe and treat.
