Blood on chicken egg

My one hen laid an egg that was covered in blood , she seemed fine however has not laid an egg since and that was a week ago. Any idea what's going on?

Would you know @Eggcessive? I'm not experienced with this.

Was it a newer layer, and was it just a smear or grossly bloody? Have you examined her vent area to look for blood or any damage to her vent? It is not uncommon for a newer layer to have a blood smeared egg. Sometimes other hens will pick at vents, especially if they are bullies or wanting the same nest box.

She's seperated with one other hen . They are 2.5 years RIRs . Maybe she is just done laying now for good??
