Your birds are young too, aren't they? My pullets almost always tear a bit when laying until they're stretched a bit more.

It happens to me every once in awhile. For about a week or so I have been getting blood on one of my hens eggs. It's only this hen. It is not an excessive amount but just a little smear, it's been on all her eggs lately. This hen used to lay multiple eggs in one day but has slowed to 1.....occasionally 2.....eggs per day. Do I need to be concerned, she is acting normal otherwise.
3 or 4 eggs a day? I highly doubt that, almost impossible in fact. You have more layers than you know about. Or someone is playing a joke on you
No I am 100% sure it was her. I already had this discussion and we came to the conclusion that she is not normal and will likely have a early death if she continues. This is positively her laying the eggs. I know itChickens very very rarely lay 2 eggs a day.... 3 or 4 is impossible
She is 9-10 months, she has been laying for 1-2 monthsYour birds are young too, aren't they? My pullets almost always tear a bit when laying until they're stretched a bit more.

She probably isn't quite there yet. I wouldn't worry unless you find actual dribbles. Even then, unless they're picking or you see a prolapse, she's probably fineNo I am 100% sure it was her. Thanks! I will probably try that! You could apply some neosporin on her anus to prevent infections. Just a thought.
