Blood on outside of egg?

We'll, she layed right away this morning. I think she was even surprised because I found the egg on the coop floor. I don't even think it had been 15 minutes because I heard the egg song a few minutes before I went outside to let them out.

Anyway, this is her second egg and closer to "normal size" so assuming this is nornal but wanted to check? Thanks!

Some pullets do that when they start laying. I have one who used to coat most of her eggs in blood. She took longer than most chickens to get past that stage.

As usual in these cases it passed naturally -- after 2 eggs in this case but sometimes it lasts longer. It's only serious if it becomes a persistent pattern.
