blood ring or blind

I get what you mean. I have 5 vent holes. In the base of the incubator there are 4 holes 1 in each corner then on the top of the incubator just above the fan there is one with a little shutter you can slide across. The air blows out of the top one so I presume the air is sucked through the bottom ones.
I have found this for calibrating a digital hygrometer let me know if it would work for yours granny.

i wish i had a camera and actually knew how to use it. LOL yes, one on each end . not exactly across from each other. Do you think the vent needs to pass over the water or through in order for the humidity to be picked up? he makes and uses these all the time but i dont know if his vents are the same as mine.

fan is on the side just in front of a vent and air is fairly strong coming out the other hole. he did say, wet sponges . I can check my hydro with that video but it dont have calibration button. I can compensate though. takes 24 hrs.

well, with the fan on the side then where would be the ideal place for vents ? the fan will be blowing directly on the eggs.

There should be vents on the top and bottom. The fan is supposed to 'gently' move the air around and around inside the computer to have a constant temperature environent. I may be wrong but, I am pretty sure the air current should not be aimed from vent to vent.

nothing like good ol duct tape. I will fix it. gonna have to put legs on it though. hydro is in its salt bath. 24 hrs. to test
