blood ring or blind

Congrats granny :celebrate
The White spots are something different eh!! Still plenty of time for your others especially if they are more super chicks. Yeah I have been standing over the incubator far too much and nothing even to look at yet. Day 7 is taking an awfull long time to come round :he

I felt a bit pants last night so had early night, have slept for about 10 hours so must have needed it :sick

Will your super chick Roos be for the pot? I'm not sure if you do that or not?

saying, feeling in the pants, is not familiar to me. is it tired or unwell ? which ever one it is i hope you get your pants back off. still just the one chick but i hear another. first time EVER they have gone to day 21 but it is cold here. 3 degrees with wind chill -8. have my heat set for 71 and its 64 in here. I put the baby in the brooder last night and it is not fluffy. must have goo on it looking like its not dry. i THINK it may have a white streak running from the head to the tail. I have only cooked one of my chickens and it was very tough but it made for good dumplings. I gave tons of them to a neighbor that has a hard time feeding his family. I dont sell them for pets because i have illness in my flock. although i have them away from the other chickens i still wouldnt take that chance. . I do wish others would follow me and stop selling these birds. but the want of money is too great for some. so i have a ton of baby roosters right now but will only keep a few. hard to decide the one that strikes my fancy the most. attitude will play a big roll as well when they are a bit older. the eggs i am waiting on are not the superchicks, 3 polish and only one brown egg. one polish i am sure is dead. the one i hear this morning is polish as well. not seeing any top though.

Sorry granny I forget we have different meanings for things LOL Feeling a bit pants is feeling a bit poorly. Although I did feel a bit tired too! Can fall asleep sat up at the moment.
That is chilly for you there, are weather is all over the place. We have had -7celsius some nights then a couple of days later we have had it upto +14. Now they have forecast 100 miles per hour winds for tomorrow.

I have advertised my Roos before and managed to get rid of them all to good homes I hope but some people are a bit suspicious in my eyes. Sure they really wanted them for eating. Any excess though go to a friends where they get a quick dispatch I just can't do it myself. It really is the down side of hatching chicks. But a quick dispatch is better than a horrid life.

A white streak on it this is all very interesting!! Hope the others get a move on for you soon.
I'm off to do the horses now so will be back later :highfive:

well dont apologize ! I am sure i say off the wall things all the time. what comes out of my mouth sometimes even my own family dont know what i am talking about. haha I am sure you have probably run across a couple of them. besides I LOVE learning new meanings for old words. I didnt sleep last night. its 6 am here now. been up most the night. didnt give that rooster a chance to wake me today ! guess i am feeling pants today as well.

oh, btw, 100 miles per hour winds? that is hurricane winds

I bet you are feeling pants with no sleep! I'm terrible in the winter for sleeping I think I might have that SAD disorder with lack of sun. Plus mucking out and doing the horses is far more hard work in the winter not as easy as the summer.

I bet your pleased you didn't remove that egg you thought was dead, good job there. Pleased you have progress with the others. Slow and steady always wins the race.

Yes they have forecast these winds of gusts 100, but if they actually arrive who knows I'm convinced sometimes they do it scare monger people!! Plus weather forecasters don't always get it right.

i slept half the day away.

sorry only 2 eggs . how many should you be getting? I woke up to another baby and one piped. they are sticky but seem very healthy and active. drinking without me showing it. pecking at an empty CLEAN food dish as to say, i know something belongs in this. the second one looks like the first. because they are not fluffy i cant tell their hairdo but i would guess these do have something going on up there. different color too white, black chicks. second one decided it wanted back in the shell. went in head first and only its little butt sticking out . stayed like that for a while then its feet came out and it started going in circles with the shell on its head. sort of pushing the shell ahead of itself. LOL

oh, by the way, seasonal effective disorder or SAD, me too. Take a vitamin D 2000 iu every day . trust. you having restless legs too?

I have been getting 4-5 a day so only two today was pretty disappointing. Would be great if they did have a fancy hair do!! Crazy arnt they fancy using all that energy to get out only to go back in. You should have got a pic! When I did quail one hatched and carried the shell about like a tortoise :gig

Excellent news they are having a go at the water on their own and wanting food shows they strong and healthy and know what to do. Really hope they all hatch :fl
