Blood smear on egg

Just found an egg I think a pullet laid that has a bloody smear on it. Is that a bad thing?
 
Occasional blood smears are nothing to be terribly concerned about. The reproductive tract is rich with blood vessels and subject to some fairly considerable stretching and force - it is not unusual for a vessel to be ruptured here or there. Consider this photo of the moment of expulsion and you can see how a rupture could happen and result in some blood on the egg.
