blood spot in egg

in the eggs that i gathered yesterday there was a blood spot in it when i broke it this morning the hens have been laying for about 5 weeks and i have never had an egg with this in it, i have several different kinds of brown egg layers therefor i don't know which one layed the egg can someone tell me what could have caused this

Sometimes "extras" get put in the egg while the hen is making it. There is nothing to worry about-she will be fine an the egg is fine to use. It is just a clitch in the process.

Sometimes it happens. It really isn't unusual. It won't hurt you. Fish it out and cook the eggs. You will see lots of strange things over the years raising chickens.
