What can I do to stop this...cause?

Do you have a rooster? if so it means that the egg is fertilized and will start growing a chick

It does not mean it's fertile, it's a broken/ruptured blood vessel during formation of the egg, it happens with fertile and infertile eggs... Usually young hens will grow out of it and there will be fewer, but there is no way to eliminate it... Most major egg suppliers candle and remove any eggs with blood spots that is why they are not common in store bought eggs, doesn't mean they were not there...
