I went to my Polish Frizzle chickens today to find a large amount of Blood under there perch
quite thick congealed almost like a miscarriage
One of the hens is about to lay her first ever egg so i assume its her
what would this be
They are a trio and all in super health
Never seen this before so any help please

I read this post yesterday but had no idea what it could be. Sorry no one else could help.

It could be an infection or just about anything else going on. Is she laying? I would separate her so you can watch her and monitor the amount of blood loss. She would benefit from liquid baby vitamins. Poly Vi Sol or the generic kind. Two drops in the morning and 2 at night. Placed on top of her beak so they can roll into her mouth and she can swallow them and not inhale them into her lungs.

You can also give her more protein like cottage cheese and leftover chopped up bits of meat or chicken to help her build her blood amount back up. Frozen chopped spinach is also good. You don't have to cook it just thaw and give her a tablespoon or 2 at a time. Plenty of water.

I hope she doesn't have a broken egg in her. I don't know what else it could be. I guess just take good care of her and wait.
