I got 8 new chicks from the feed store. Probalby not smart but I couldnt' resist. The guy said they are 3 weeks old but a couple of them are TINY and none of them look bigger than our last batch which were all between a day and a week old. Anyways, a few of them now have bloody beaks like part of it is missing and one of the tiny one has some kind of messed up vent. It kind of looks inside out and there is some clearish fluid. What is wrong?? I can't think of anything that happened to them although I've seen them peck each other a bit. What do I need to do?

Wow sounds like some of them have been de-beaked. Not much you can do for them but give them a deep food dish to help them eat.

If one is injured in the vent area keep it away from others who could peck it. (cardboard barrier maybe)

You might want to start a new thread about the little one with the behind problem in the Emergencies / Diseases / Injuries and Cures section. It may have a prolapsed vent and someone on there may be able to walk you through trying to help it.
