the nail fell off!

in my hand.... and there is this thing that sticks out now, like you know those pedicure commercials for dogs and cats? the thing inside the nail that you don't want to clip off??? I think it's that thing.... with no protective nail on it anymore... do you think THat thing will fall off????

If the quick is exposed, I'd think that it would hurt. But then again, it'll probably just dry up and fall off the rest of the way. She'll probably know enough not to smash it against anything, but try to keep her from thrashing around too much.


Both of my drakes lost toenails, and when the mallard's wouldn't stop bleeding, I put Neosporin on it. It healed nicely and they just go on with life without a couple nails.
