One of my pullets is laying eggs with blood on them. I can't tell which bird it is. Her first and second egg had dried blood on them when I collected them. Is this a problem?
One of mine (a SS hamburg) had a bloody first egg. Bloody enough to worry me. I checked her vent and it looked fine, no blood, no sign of trauma.... She's never had another bloody one since. I don't think I'd be too worried about it unless it keeps continuing.
Sometimes this happens. I wouldn't worry too much about it. They are just getting used to the egg thing and an egg is a big thing to be popping out. Just a tear in the pullet, she'll get better over time.
