Help! I went out to the henhouse to collect eggs, and I found Nutmeg like this

I don’t know what happened, but it seems that she got in a fight with another chicken. Any advice would be helpful!

Oh my! Poor nutmeg! Okay, clean her up as well as you can so you can stanch the bleeding or have a look at where she has been hurt at. My hen was like this a few weeks ago, and she may have been caught up in a flock hierarchy between two hens or she was being put down by a higher ranking chicken. if she is bleeding fluidly, sprinkle some cornstarch to stop the bleeding. Hydrogen Peroxide may be needed if it is pretty bad. Isolate her and keep her cozy. She doesn't look too bad, so some TLC will cheer her up. Don't isolate her too long so she isn't forgotten in the flock pecking order. She looks like either a hen pecked her, or predator got her, but i think it was a hen/s. That s really all you can do, but keep us posted!

Thank you! I’ve got her cleaned up and fed, and she seems to be doing much better. We got rid of all traces of blood, and checked to seem how the flock would react to seeing her again. They acted like nothing had changed, so we came to the decision to put her back in the coop for the night to avoid any squabbling that might happen if she were to be reintroduced. Again, thank you for your input!
