I have 3 roos that are 4 1/2 months and a roo that is 3 1/2 months. This morning I found blood drops everywhere and looked everyone over to find the 3 1/2 mth roo with blood on his face and blood dripping from his wattle, the vein that runs down it was were the injury was and when he shook his head blood would fly all over his head. They all have had their little fights before but nothing like this, I'm not whis roo did it but I dont want it to happen again.. I know my hens that are 4 1/2 months are getting ready to go into laying so could the older roos be more aggressive because of that?

As the hens mature, the fighting will escalate. At this point, you need to decide who you want to keep and who you want to give away. How many hens do you have? You can do as I've done and make a separate coop for the boys. A bachelor pad..away from women, they pretty much live in peace. Good luck with your boys!

Good idea, so I can keep all my boys together away from the hens?? and all will be fine? I kinda guess it may be the hens coming into lay that was heating up the battles.. I do want to keep all my roos so I guess I will get to work finding wood to make a seperate coop and run. I have 13 hens and 4 roos

With that many hens, you could probably keep 2 roos with them. Some say that you need ten hens per roo but, I've done just fine with 5 per. Yes, you can put the others together with no girls and they will live a pretty much peaceful existence. There will be skirmishes but no huge battles. Right now, I have 9 roos that run together. They are 9 months old and only when they fence fight with my older roo is there blood shed.

Ok great, I really like all my birds and this way they can all stay safe. This would be good also so I can switch up roos when i start hatching
