I have this hen who is a rescue so I’m not sure her age. She laid her first egg since molt and now she quiet and not perky this morning I checked her crop it’s a little bit squishy so I assumed maybe impacted crop so I put her in crate with water/ACV then now I just noticed her stool is dark purple. I am stumped and worried. Cocci?

What has she been eating and how long have you had her?
What does rescue mean - where did she come from?
Has she been with your existing flock or do you have her quarantined?

Any damage to the vent, pecking, etc.?

I’ve had her for 2 years with other 2 girls they been together. I do not know where she came from, a friend brought her in because of bad owners I nursed her back to health. She’s been healthy til now. She is the top of pecking order and vent looks ok just a bit dirty with poop.

That's all, no berries, no treats, no goodies, no bugs, no scratch, no grass, no scraps, no nothing.
Just plain feed all the time, nothing else?

IF all she's been eating is just plain feed, nothing else at all.
Then I'd treat with Corid and an antibiotic (Sulfa drug or a tetracycline).

If you can get vet help, that's the best.

Yes I do give them treats 1-2x a day from a bag I buy from tractors . No vet here which is why I reached out to this forum. Thank you

Like pulling teeth ain't it!😂

What's in the treat bag that is red, purple or a black color?

Better yet, post some photos of the products you are using so I can read the labels.
