We have 6 hens in a super coop. Fort Knox. We have bird dogs so there is no free ranging. The coop has a sand floor and PDZ sand in the roosting tray. The run is sandy dirt. The coop and run are cleaned every 1-2 days. Once weekly I spread mite be gone, diatomaceous earth sprinkled and chick restore which I put into the PDZ sand under the roosting bar.
In the chicken run they have a dirt bath that I enrich weekly with lemon grass, chamomile flower, lavender and mite be gone. If we have a evening fire I add the ashes to the mixture as well.
On 3 occasions now I have found a bloody stool in the roosting tray. I have not seen it anywhere else. Our girls are about 4 1/2 months old. I have their nesting boxes ready with indoor outdoor carpet lined paint trays and added nesting mats with calming herbs. I have seen feathers in the boxes so I know they are exploring them.
I don't know who is doing the stool. They are all enthusiastically eating and drinking. They get cabbage, cantaloupe rind and watermelon rind: at least one of them weekly. I give them a big handful of dried meal worms and sargeant flies about every other day. They have 2 five gallon buckets with unlimited supply of Dumor layer feed crumble.
The chicken run is surrounded with herb gardens. They have never been exposed to anything else and they have been together since purchase on 4 /13/25.
Any ideas?

Have they ever been wormed?
It won't hurt to dose with corid, 2 tsp per gallon of water for 5 days, fresh daily.
Stop the de and wood ashes, both are respiratory and skin irritants and will not repel or kill pests.
